Author, Patricia Cori: Before We Leave You - Aug 01,2012

What if whales and dolphins truly do have a superior intellect, as many believe, and can speak to the human race? What would their message be? In November 2008, gifted clairvoyant Patricia Cori was in Jordan teaching a workshop when a life-changing event occurred. A community of Cetaceans—“a choir of whales and dolphins,” as she describes it—interrupted her talk with a frantic plea for help. Cori was suddenly witness to a devastating scene of suffering, a communal grieving of scores of whales and dolphins “frenzied, lost, and dying.” This was the first of several terrifying calls for help, all of which were immediately followed by mass suicide events as these majestic creatures collectively chose to leave us and our planet. These troubling incidents evolved into the stream of messages for humanity that Cori reveals in this extremely timely work. The whales and dolphins present their deep understanding of our urgent global situation, calling for the human race to restore balance to our ecosystems—especially our dying oceans. For the first time, we read the communications of the Cetaceans and their story of devotion and celebration of life on the Great Planet Earth. We are also given a glimpse of their role in the unfolding of galactic events throughout our solar system, and the message is clear: We must wake up and realize that our continued abuse of the environment is altering the course of Gaia's progression to the next dimension. Without the whale and dolphin song—without these musicians who hold the oceans in balance—we risk our advancement through the ascension process for which our entire solar system is destined. Before We Leave You:Messages from the Great Whales and the Dolphin Beings is a roadmap to that higher future and a pathway to global transformation.Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by Patricia Cori.

Clean Energy View: John Elkington Talks About The Zeronauts - Aug 02,2012

A world of 9 billion people by mid-century will demand fundamental changes in our mindsets, behaviors, cultures, and overarching paradigm. Just as our species broke the Sound Barrier during the 1940s and 1950s, a new breed of innovator, entrepreneur, and investor is lining up to break the Sustainability Barrier. In his best-selling book, John Elkington introduces The Zeronauts – a new breed of innovator, determined to drive problems such as carbon, waste, toxics, and poverty to zero – as well as creating the first Zeronaut Roll of Honor, spotlighting 50 pioneers in the field of zero. Zeronauts are innovating in an astonishing range of areas, tackling hugely diverse economic, social, environmental, and governance challenges. To give a sense of progress to date, we zero in on five key challenges (the 5Ps): population growth, pandemics, poverty, pollution, and proliferation. The power of zero has been trumpeted, notably in relation to zero defects. This book spotlights key lessons learned in the field of total quality management – and introduces a five-stage "Pathways to Zero" model, running through from the Eureka! discovery moment to the point where a new way of doing things becomes endemic in the economy. In order to move from incremental to transformative change, we must embrace wider framings, deeper insights, higher targets, and longer time scales. This book investigates some ways in which leading Zeronauts are pushing change in relevant directions, with cases drawn from a spectrum of human activity – from water profligacy to human genital mutilation. If we learn from these pioneers, the twenty-first century could be our best yet. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, hosts, June Stoyer and special guest host, Luis Mejia, Managing Partner, Murdock Capital Partners talk to John Elkington about The Zeronauts.

What Do You Do If Your Pet Dies From Its Pet Food? - Aug 08,2012

In 2007, the United States and Canada suffered the largest pet food recall in history due to the use of Melamime which was imported from China. Melamime is an additive that was used for the purpose of increasing protein levels when added to vegetable proteins as corn, soy and wheat. Subsequently, Melamime is lethal to cats and dogs. As a result, it is estimated that 300,000 pets suffered and died in just the US and Canada according to international pet food expert Susan Thixton. More than 4 years later, in the recently settled law suit filed after this mass murder, pet owners received only 50% of their claims. Do the laws actually protect pets or protect negligent companies from being held accountable? What course of action do you take if your animal companion dies from commercially produced pet food? How much money will this cost you? How hard is it to retain a law firm to file suit? In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will talk to world renowned pet food expert, Susan Thixton, Founder of Truth About Pet Food (www.truthaboutpetfood.com) about this very sensitive subject. Clean Energy View: Using Weather Science To Manage Risk - Aug 14,2012

According to a report from the Economist Intelligence Unit, in 2010, global investment in new renewable energy projects exceeded investment in new fossil fuel fired plants for the first time, largely driven by a mix of renewable energy incentives and political pressure to invest in less emission-intensive energy production. Yet although investments in renewable energy plants are growing, so are the risks. Renewable energy resources such as solar, wind and hydro are not only weather-driven but are climate dependent. The science of climatology deals with the ‘statistical' side of the weather. By studying the weather patterns and climate change, we can further cultivate the successful development and operation of renewable energy projects. Risk assessment is an important factor for successful entrepreneurship of renewable energy production. 3TIER is a company that was founded on the idea that bringing the latest science to the renewable energy industry would close information gaps about resource variability and propel the adoption of clean energy worldwide. The company is driven by the belief that their clients financial success will propagate a sustainable future powered by renewable energy. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, hosts, June Stoyer and host, Luis Mejia, Managing Partner, Murdock Capital Partners talk to Craig Husa, CEO of 3Tier.com to discuss the risk assessment in renewable energy production. Mr. Husa has over 20 years of leadership experience in high-growth, technology companies. Mr. Husa earned a MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BS, with distinction, in Systems Engineering from the US Naval Academy. As an officer in the Navy, he also received advanced training and qualifications in nuclear engineering and served on submarines.

The Journey of a Des Daughter - Aug 15,2012

Diethylstilbestrol (or Di-ethyl-Stilbestrol) or DES is the first synthetic man made female sex hormone (oestrogen) prescribed for public use mainly between 1938 and 1971 (but not limited to those years). Used primarily to prevent miscarriage and complications in pregnancy, diethylstilbestrol was a common medication administered by doctors in North America, Europe, and Australia for more than 40 years. Aggressive marketing pushed DES (spelled diethylstilboestrol in the UK) to also be used for more than 100 additional medical conditions. Never patented, DES was marketed using hundreds of brand names in the mistaken belief it prevented miscarriages and premature deliveries. In the United States, an estimated 5–10 million people were exposed to DES, including women who were prescribed DES while pregnant, and the children born of those pregnancies. The exposure to DES can not only affect the health of the mother but of the children of a DES Mother. Be that as it may, DES Mothers are women prescribed DES while pregnant and DES Daughters are women whose mothers were given DES while pregnant with them. While there are many women and children whose health has suffered because of DES, this scandal is still one of the biggest in history that not many people are even aware of. Mexican Gray Wolf: Most Endangered Land Mammal in N America! - Aug 20,2012

The Mexican gray wolf is considered the most endangered land mammal in North America. It once roamed throughout southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, western Texas and northern Mexico, but throughout the 1900's “El Lobo” was trapped, poisoned and hunted to near extinction due to conflicts with livestock and aggressive predator control. From just seven survivors, Mexican wolves are trying to make their way toward recovery. Its restoration is an opportunity to bring a natural balance back to the wild lands of the Southwest. The Endangered Species Act helped prevent the extinction of the unique and ecologically important animal. Released back into the wild in 1998, Mexican wolves have been doing their part ever since – forming packs, killing elk, finding mates and raising pups. But today, just 50 Mexican wolves now course the landscape in the American Southwest, fewer than half of what biologist had hoped for at the onset of the reintroduction. Strong anti-wolf interests in Congress and the states are aggressively working to eliminate the very protections necessary to ensure a future for these critically endangered wolves. Up-to-date info on attempts to strip endangered species protections for rare Mexican wolves can be found here: http://www.defenders.org/resources/publications/programs_and_policy/wildlife_conservation/imperiled_species/wolf/southwest_wolf/esa_and_mexican_wolves.pdf In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will speak to Craig Miller from Defenders.org about the efforts to save the Mexican Gray Wolf. Clean Energy View: Energy Independence And Consumerism - Aug 21,2012

With the upcoming presidential race in the USA, American consumers understand that we cannot continue to remain dependent upon fossil fuels. In order to truly become sustainable and energy independent, we need to invest and incorporate renewable energy technology into our lives. There is a lot to be learned from what other countries are doing so that consumers can become renewable energy independent instead of shifting from source of energy dependence to another. For example, in Germany, a portion of its renewable energy comes directly from citizens, family farms and small businesses. This is creating true energy independence and sustainability. Although the technology is available in the USA, this concept has a long way to go before it becomes mainstream in the USA. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Mike Stafford who will be addressing consumerism and the issues with the renewable energy independence. Stay Tuned! Bio: Michael Stafford is a nationally syndicated political columnist through Cagle Cartoons. His writing has been featured on numerous blogs including FrumForum, Coffee Party USA, The Cagle Post, and TommyWonk, as well as in The Dialog (the newspaper for the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Delaware). He is also a regular contributor to Town Square Delaware. Politically, Mr. Stafford formerly served on both the Delaware State Republican Committee and on the New Castle County Republican Committee. He remains active in politics as the Delaware Coordinator for Republicans for Environmental Protection. Mr. Stafford earned his Juris Doctorate from Duke University School of Law and practices law in Wilmington, Delaware.

As we make the transition to renewable energy and energy efficiency, there are a myriad of opportunities to be found. While it is great to do your part, some people decide to take it to the next level and start a small business. Others that feel they sincerely wish to facilitate change opt to start a non-profit organization. While either choice can be very rewarding, there is a lot of information to consider before making this choice. The wrong decision can also be quite costly. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, hosts, June Stoyer and host, Luis Mejia, Managing Partner, Murdock Capital Partners talk to energy expert and best-selling author, Scott Davis. Bio: Scott Davis is an award-winning renewable energy project developer with decades of experience operating, installing, designing, selling, and teaching microhydro technology. The Fatal Sting of Clothianidin On Honeybees - Aug 24,2012

Honeybees pollinate 1/3 of all of our agricultural food as well as other important crops such as cotton that are used for textiles. Without them, life as we know it would cease to exist. Any fatal impact on the honeybee would create a monumental disaster. Clothianidin has been widely used as a seed treatment on many of the USA's key crops (which include canola, soy, sunflowers, wheat and sugar beet crops) for eight growing seasons under a conditional registration granted while EPA waited for Bayer Crop Science, the pesticide's maker, to conduct a field study assessing the insecticide's threat to bee colony health. The EPA has moved from granting a conditional registration to full registration of this chemical just in time for the spring planting. Clothianidin is of the neonicotinoid family of systemic pesticides, which are taken up by a plant's vascular system and expressed through pollen, nectar and gutation droplets from which bees then forage and drink. Scientists are concerned about the mix and cumulative effects of the multiple pesticides bees are exposed to in these ways. Neonicotinoids are of particular concern because they have cumulative, sublethal effects on insect pollinators that correspond to CCD symptoms – namely, neurobehavioral and immune system disruptions. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer will speak to Tom Theobald, Master Beekeeper, President and founding board member of the Boulder County Beekeepers Association about the impact of this devastation chemical. Clean Energy View: Albert Bates-The Biochar Solution - Aug 28,2012

Conventional agriculture destroys our soils, pollutes our water and is a major contributor to climate change. What if our agricultural practices could stabilize, or even reverse these trends? The Biochar Solution explores the dual function of biochar as a carbon-negative energy source and a potent soil-builder. Created by burning biomass in the absence of oxygen, this material has the unique ability to hold carbon back from the atmosphere while simultaneously enhancing soil fertility. Author Albert Bates traces the evolution of this extraordinary substance from the ancient black soils of the Amazon to its reappearance as a modern carbon sequestration strategy. Combining practical techniques for the production and use of biochar with an overview of the development and future of carbon farming, The Biochar Solution describes how a new agricultural revolution can reduce net greenhouse gas emissions to below zero while increasing world food reserves and creating energy from biomass wastes. Biochar and carbon farming can: Reduce fossil fuels inputs into our food system, Bring new life to desert landscapes, Filter and purify drinking water, Help build carbon-negative homes, communities and nations. Biochar is not without dangers if unregulated, and it is not a panacea, but if it fulfills its promise of taking us back from the brink of irreversible climate change, it may well be the most important discovery in human history. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, hosts, June Stoyer and host, Luis Mejia, Managing Partner, Murdock Capital Partners talk to energy expert and best-selling author, Albert Bates.

How Safe Is Your Pet’s Flea Medicine? - Aug 29,2012

The battle cry has been sounded and Spring has sprung! It is almost as if fleas, ticks and mosquitoes have been building their armies, as they prepare to attack. Oddly enough some have actually adapted to the weapons that have been used against them. Others have mutated so they are stronger and bigger. There are now so many new flea and tick medications on the market that it seems like an easy problem to solve. However, no one really thinks about the danger of these chemicals to our animal companions! If you live in a warm climate, year round, there is no relief from the cold weather that generally kills these parasites. They are a problem all year long. This also means that our animal companions require year long protection. Just how safe are these chemicals? What are the implications of the animals being given drugs that are often poisonous? How are they being administered? Could some of the diseases and behavior issues be related to these products? In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to animal and wildlife advocate, Laura Lluellyn-Lassiter from Soul Be It (http://www.Soul-Be-It.com ). Laura will provide some new products that are not only organic but explain the use of electro-magnetic energy fields to eliminate these insects. She will also discuss the top ten flea myths, why the flea is such a fierce enemy, natural defensive strategies for animals in addition to defending the home environment, inside and out. Stay tuned!

Dr Stephen Golden: Climate Change & Reducing Emissions - Aug 30,2012

Until our energy is completely sustainable, we must conserve energy and do as much as possible to reduce the impact of fossil fuels. While there are many government type incentives to scrap the metal such as the “cash for clunkers” campaign, there is still a huge dependence upon older model vehicles, especially in agriculture and construction. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to energy expert Dr. Stephen J. Golden, Ph.D. who is one of the founders of Clean Diesel Technologies Inc. CDTI has created breakthrough technology which offers solutions which significantly reduce four of the principal, harmful emissions formed by the combustion of fossil fuels and biofuels:Particulate matter, Oxides of nitrogen, Hydrocarbons, and Carbon. Why are these solutions so critical? What can we collectively do to combat climate change? What positive impact can technology make? Tune in! BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Stephen J. Golden, Ph.D., is Chief Technical Officer of Clean Diesel Technologies Inc., immediately following the business combination of Clean Diesel and Catalytic Solutions, Inc. Dr. Golden has served as Chief Technical Officer of Catalytic Solutions, Inc. Dr. Golden, one of the founders of Catalytic Solutions, Inc. and developer of its technology, has served as the Chief Technical Officer and Director of Catalytic Solutions, Inc. since 1996. From 1994 to late 1995, Dr. Golden was the Research Director for Dreisbach Electromotive Incorporated, a developer of advanced batteries based in Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Golden received his doctorate in Material Science at Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, England. Dr. Golden did post-doctoral work at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Queensland, Australia in ceramic oxide and mixed metal oxide materials.

The Case Against Fluoride - Aug 31,2012

Most people take for granted that the water in from their faucet is safe to drink or is it? There is a lot of controversy over just how safe our tap water is and also if our government agencies have the right to treat drinking water that is consumed by the masses. The agencies that are charged with protecting our water claim that everything is safe. However, there are many scientists who disagree. The Case Against Fluoride by Dr. Paul Connett, Dr. James Beck, and Dr. H. Spedding Micklem, DPhil, takes a new look at the science behind water fluoridation and argues that just because the medical establishment endorses a public health measure, that doesnt mean its safe. In the case of water fluoridation, the chemicals used to fluoridate the water that more than 180 million people drink each day are not pharmaceutical grade, but rather hazardous waste products of the phosphate fertilizer industry; it is illegal to dump them into rivers and lakes or release them into the atmosphere. And water fluoridation is a prime example of one of the worst medical practices possible-forced medication with no control over the dose or who gets it. Perhaps most shocking of all, it is not subject to any federal regulation. Dr. Paul Connett is the Director of the Flouride Action Network (FAN), and the Executive Director of its parent body, the American Environmental Health Studies Project (AEHSP). He has spoken and given more than 2,000 presentations in 49 states and 52 countries on the issue of waste management. He holds a bachelors degree from the University of Cambridge, a Ph.D. in chemistry from Dartmouth College and is a retired professor of environmental chemistry and toxicology at St. Lawrence University.
