Seeds Of Destruction: The History of GMO's - Apr 01,2013
This skillfully researched book focuses on how small, socio-political American elite seeks to establish its control over the very basis of human survival, the provision of our daily bread. “Control the food and you control the people.” This is no ordinary book about the perils of GMO. William Engdahl, a leading economist and analyst of geopolitics, has written about the issues pertaining to energy, politics and economics for over 30 years. The Neonicotinoid View: Peter Jenkins Discusses EPA Lawsuit - Apr 03,2013
On March 21, 2013, a law suit was filed in Federal District Court against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for its failure to protect pollinators from dangerous pesticides. The coalition, represented by attorneys for the Center for Food Safety (CFS), seeks suspension of the registrations of insecticides that have repeatedly been identified as highly toxic to honey bees, clear causes of major bee kills and significant contributors to the devastating ongoing mortality of bees known as colony collapse disorder (CCD). The suit challenges EPA's ongoing handling of the pesticides as well as the agency's practice of “conditional registration” and labeling deficiencies. In this special series called “The Neonicotinoid View”, hosts June Stoyer and special guest co-host, Tom Theobald, talk to environmental lawyer, Peter T. Jenkins who will explain why the law suit was filed. Stay tuned! Bio: Peter T. Jenkins is an independent attorney consulting for the Center for Food Safety (CFS) on pesticide impacts. For the last year he has worked for CFS on reversing the regulatory failures that have contributed to the current environmental impacts caused by neonicotinoids. CBG's Philipp Mimkes: Remove Dangerous Contraceptive Pills - Apr 08,2013
The Coalition Against BAYER (CBGNetwork or CBG) has launched a campaign asking the Bayer company to remove contraceptive pills from the market due to the potential health risks. The CBG also demands mandatory disclosure of all reported side effects and all post-marketing surveillance studies and effective punishments for unfair pharmaceutical advertising. Oral contraceptives that are associated with an elevated risk of thrombosis and embolism must be banned. According to the CBG, “contraceptive pills of the latest generation are associated with a risk of embolism that is nearly twice as high as that associated with older products. At least 200 young women have died so far. Yaz/Yasmin is heavily advertised by Bayer, especially towards girls and young women, by promising reduction of weight and acne relief. However, no attention is drawn by Bayer to the more pronounced risk profile associated with products containing the hormone drospirenone. This leads to avoidable incidents and fatalities.” The Coalition Against Bayer Dangers has been monitoring the chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer for more than three decades. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer, talks to Philipp Mimkes, a physicist who has been working fulltime with the Coalition for the last 18 years. We will discuss the CBGs Campaign To Remove Dangerous Contraceptive Pills From The Market. Stay tuned!

The Neonicotinoid View: Are Neonicotinoids Too Big To Ban? - Apr 10,2013
There has been a huge debate over the impact of Neonicotinoids, which are a class of systemic pesticides with a common mode of action that affects the central nervous system of insects, causing paralysis and death. Neonicotinoids are often applied as seed treatments which means coating the seeds before planting. They also generate billions of dollars for the agro-chemical companies that manufacture these chemicals and are available not only for agricultural applications but also can be found in a myriad of garden products available all over the world. As the peer-reviewed, independent scientific evidence mounts from reputable scientists around the world that these chemicals are the cause of global honey bee decline, the industry still claims that they are not to blame. The industry also argues that without these systemic pesticides, agriculture will suffer, resulting in crop failure. Similar to the big banking conglomerates and other industries that are “too big to fail”, are neonicotinoids the next to join this lineup? In this special series called “The Neonicotinoid View”, hosts June Stoyer and guest co-host, Tom Theobald will be joined by the President of the Professional Beekeeper's Association, Walter Haefeker to discuss “The Value of Neonicotinoid Seed Treatment in the European Union”. Stay tuned!

Who is Percy Schmeiser? He is a canola farmer from Saskatchewan, Canada and was the first farmer to win a law suit against Monsanto. Schmeiser believes this precedent setting agreement ensures that farmers will be entitled to reimbursement when their fields become contaminated with unwanted Roundup Ready canola or any other unwanted GMO plants. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Percy Schmeiser about his battle with this agro-chemical giant.

Joel Salatin Explains Why, "Folks, This Ain’t Normal!" - Apr 15,2013
Thanks to decades of clever mass marketing campaigns, the average person has become completely disconnected with how our food is grown and also what real food should look like. With the agro-chemical companies chiming away that “there is going to be a food shortage if we dont produce more food and decrease the world population in order for everyone to survive,” the reality is most people do not have a clue as to how their food is produced, where it is grown or how it is grown. Processed foods, initially created with the intention to save time, are simply not a healthy choice. Some of these processed, ready to “heat and serve” products made with “real chicken” are breaded, seasoned and disguised in all sorts of geometrical shapes so that children will be encouraged to eat them. Meanwhile, the average child who primarily consumes this type of food has no idea what a chicken looks like, sounds like or the fact that chickens are smart, loving beings. It takes a true organic farmer to really get the point across about the benefits of growing organics and eating organics. Joel Salatin is an organic farmer from Virginia who talks about the problems he sees not only as an organic farmer but as a consumer of organic foods. In hisbest-selling book, Folks, This Aint Normal: A Farmers Advice for Happier Hens, Healthier People, and a Better World he takes us into his world as he talks about how our food is produced and why we ought to take a closer look at where and how our food is produced. Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by special guest Joel Salatin!
Before We Leave You: Messages from Great Whales & Dolphins - Apr 16,2013
What if whales and dolphins truly do have a superior intellect, as many believe, and can speak to the human race? What would their message be? In November 2008, gifted clairvoyant Patricia Cori was in Jordan teaching a workshop when a life-changing event occurred. A community of Cetaceans—“a choir of whales and dolphins,” as she describes it—interrupted her talk with a frantic plea for help. Cori was suddenly witness to a devastating scene of suffering, a communal grieving of scores of whales and dolphins “frenzied, lost, and dying.” This was the first of several terrifying calls for help, all of which were immediately followed by mass suicide events as these majestic creatures collectively chose to leave us and our planet. These troubling incidents evolved into the stream of messages for humanity that Cori reveals in this extremely timely work. The whales and dolphins present their deep understanding of our urgent global situation, calling for the human race to restore balance to our ecosystems—especially our dying oceans. For the first time, we read the communications of the Cetaceans and their story of devotion and celebration of life on the Great Planet Earth. We are also given a glimpse of their role in the unfolding of galactic events throughout our solar system, and the message is clear: We must wake up and realize that our continued abuse of the environment is altering the course of Gaias progression to the next dimension. Without the whale and dolphin song—without these musicians who hold the oceans in balance—we risk our advancement through the ascension process for which our entire solar system is destined. Before We Leave You: Messages from the Great Whales and the Dolphin Beings is a roadmap to that higher future and a pathway to global transformation.Tune in to this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by Patricia Cori.
The Neonicotinoid View: The Ontario Bee Poisonings of 2012 - Apr 17,2013
In a document titled, “Evaluation of Canadian Bee Mortalities that Coincided with Corn Planting in Spring 2012”, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) reported some of the events of this historic crisis. “PMRA received a significant number of honeybee mortality reports from the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario. A portion of these mortalities were determined to be associated with spray drift, however, an unusually high number of reports of honey bee mortalities were received from beekeepers in corn growing regions of Ontario and Quebec. The majority of reports were from southern Ontario, involving over 40 beekeepers and 240 different bee yard locations. Additionally, one report was received from Quebec involving eight bee yards. Timing and location of these honey bee mortalities appeared to coincide with planting corn seed treated with insecticides. An evaluation was undertaken to assess whether pesticides may have contributed to the mortalities and whether regulatory action was required. This evaluation focused only on pollinator mortalities that coincided with planting treated corn. The information evaluated suggests that planting of corn seeds treated with the nitro guanidine insecticides clothianidin and/or thiamethoxam contributed to the majority of the bee mortalities that occurred in corn growing regions of Ontario and Quebec in Spring 2012. The likely route of exposure was insecticide contaminated dust generated during the planting of treated corn seed. The unusual weather conditions in the spring of 2012 were likely also a contributing factor.” In this special series called “The Neonicotinoid View”, hosts June Stoyer and guest co-host, Tom Theobald, talk to the Vice-President of the Ontario Beekeeper's Association, Tibor Szabo. Tibor is a 3rd generation beekeeper and the largest queen producer in Canada. Stay tuned!

Lords of Nature: Can We Survive Without Necessary Predators? - Apr 23,2013
What would happen if your car had no oil or the steering wheel had been removed or you had no more gas? Your car would not function properly and clearly, you would have problems driving. When it comes to nature, every plant, every creature, every micro and macro organism plays its part much in the same way. Human beings are notorious for quickly destroying wildlife for the simple reason being that these creatures are either difficult to cohabitate with or are just a nuisance. It is unfortunate that people are so disconnected with nature and do not see how each creature plays an important role that impacts other creatures (human beings included) “Leading scientists working around the globe are learning that these much feared predators may in fact hold a key to life itself. It is the presence or absence of top predators that affects the health of the entire ecosystem.”-Lords of Nature The Lords of Nature: Life in a Land of Great Predators, is a captivating documentary which tells the story of a science now discovering top carnivores as revitalizing forces of nature, and of a society now learning tolerance for beasts they once banished. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Karen Anspacher-Meyer, Executive Director, Green Fire Productions and Craig Miller, Southwest Representative Defenders of Wildlife. We will also discuss the issues with efforts to minimize the protection offered to these species under The Endangered Species Act. Stay tuned!
